Korean-Style Ground Turkey – A Flavorful, Healthy Twist on a Classic Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey (85% lean recommended)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (optional)
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (avocado or vegetable)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

 

Instructions

  • Mix soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar in a small bowl.
  • Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add neutral oil.
  • Add ground turkey and break it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • Pour in the sauce and stir well. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
